How to get exactly 25 lines per page in Microsoft Word

1. Use 12 point Courier New or 12 point Dark Courier font
2. In the Word, go to File/Page Setup/Margins and set the following:

  • Top margin = 1″
  • Bottom margin = 0.9″
  • Left margin = 1.1″
  • Right margin = 0.9″
  • Header and Footer = 0.5″

3. Go to Format/Paragraph

In the Indents and Spacing dialogue box, go to the Line Spacing section

  • Use the drop-down box to select “exactly”.
  • Use the “at” drop-down box to select “26″
In the Line and Page Breaks dialogue box, be sure that Widow/Orphan control is off (i.e. not checked)

I’ve created two Word templates that will give you exactly 25 lines per page.
To download, right-click on the file name and choose “save as”. Unzip the template files and place them in your default Templates folder. Note that the template extension is .dot.

If you don’t know how to install the template or the font, please consult the Help files in Word and your operating system. These files work on my computer, but I make no guarantee they will work on yours.
